Polímeros: Ciência e Tecnologia – A new and higher Impact Factor (1.6)

Dear readers, authors, reviewers and contributors.

The new 2026 edition of the Journal of Citation Reports (JCR) has been published, and our journal's new impact factor is 1.6, an increase considering the last two editions (2024 was 1.000 – 60%; and 2025 was 1.4 – 14.3%). The continued growth of Polímeros is both encouraging and highly significant, reflecting the journal’s increasing recognition within the scientific community. Sustaining this progress, however, requires the ongoing dedication and collective efforts of the Editorial Committee and the Editorial Board. Likewise, the continued success of Polímeros depends on the active engagement of authors through the submission of high-quality manuscripts and on the invaluable contribution of reviewers, whose careful and rigorous evaluations ensure the scientific excellence of the published work.

The steady increase in citations received by articles published in Polímeros further demonstrates the journal’s growing visibility, impact, and consolidation as a respected reference in the field of polymer science.

We express our sincere gratitude to the members of the Editorial Committee and the Editorial Board, the funding agencies, the authors, and the reviewers for their dedication and commitment. We also acknowledge the indispensable support provided by the ABPol Secretariat, whose continuous assistance plays a fundamental role in the successful operation and ongoing development of Polímeros.

I would like to take this opportunity to warmly welcome the following distinguished researchers, recently appointed as new members of the Polímeros Editorial Board, who will undoubtedly enrich and expand the journal's expertise. The journal Polímeros: Ciência e Tecnologia has been making efforts to achieve gender balance in its editorial board:

A new Article Publication Charge APC will be due to all accepted articles, which were submitted after 01/01/2026 as: R$1.000,00 (for corresponding authors based in Brazil) or U$300.00 (for corresponding authors based outside Brazil).

Discounts may be applied:

Review articles are exempt from the publication fee.
Active ABPol members who are corresponding authors of approved articles are entitled to a 10% discount on the fee.
Discounts may be available for articles partially presented at recent scientific congresses, if a prior agreement exists between ABPol and the Congress.
